Summer Mission Appeal

The Propagation of Faith Summer Mission Appeal - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge

In a land that is devastated almost annually by typhoons and volcanic activity, the area served by Father Bob Banares and the priests and religious of his diocese, there is always hope that Our Lord will provide.  And He does--year after year--disaster after disaster.

Priests receive no salary in this impoverished area of the Pacific Ocean.  Father Bob and his fellow priests and religious exist solely by the grace of God and the generosity of those more fortunate who are able to make regular contributions to their mission.

We, the parish families of St. John the Baptist and Our Lady of the Assumption, pledge to continue offering our support for the work that Father Bob does to help so many find the path to God, even during the very worst of times.

If you can make a contribution to the mission of Father Bob and his fellow religious in the Philippines, whether one time, or on a recurring basis, please contact the parish office of St. John's and Our Lady at (225) 654-5778.

"Nothing contributes more to the building of one's character, than the actions of his soul.

Do something special for someone else, no matter how selfish you feel today."

Children sit for Mass and Feeding, all part of the Missionary work of Father Bob and his fellow priests and religious in a very poor region of the Philippine

Because 90% of the population in this province are Catholic, Mass can be celebrated in the schools. God does provide, always
