An Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is a lay person who assists the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion.
These ministers prepare the Altar for Mass. (Altar Setup) They may also serve by bringing communion to parishioners who reside in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or in their own homes and unable to get to church.
These ministers are commissioned by the Pastor.
A training session must be completed before participation in this ministry.
Eucharistic Ministers can check their schedule at Ministry Scheduler Pro.
